Splashing Away

We are so lucky to live by the beach and when we can't get to the beach we are extra lucky to have a pool right in front of our house. If Matty and Abby could they would spend their life in the pool. They love to swim and play in the pool. There are many times there are tears because they don't want to get out. Even though they have been in for over 3 hours. Daddy has been working on swimming without floaties with both kids. We planned on putting them in swim lessons but before we knew it the summer has come and gone. They both are doing very well with Daddy teaching them. We are going to enroll them in official lessons later this year. Matty loves to jump in and try to get toys from the bottom of the pool and making big splashes. Abby just loves to be in the water. I have 2 water bugs and they have always been that way.

One of the first times Abby trying to swim without floaties. She was not to happy with the idea at first. Now she loves it.

First the jump and then the splash. Matty loves jumping in and making waves as he says. Abby seems to always be around him when he does this. Both of the kids love swimming. It is so funny when there are other people in the pool Abby will tell them from our window that that's her pool and not to mess it up. Funny little girl.

Fun At The Park

Matty and Abby love to go the park. Any park is fun for them. Matty likes to go to and make new friends. When we pull up he tells we were are all the kids so I can play with them. I try and take them to the park a couple times a week since we only have a small backyard and they love it so much. At this trip to the park Matty made some friends that were his age and they decided to dig a hole. He told a little boy that came up they were digging a hole to the North Pole so they can go and visit Santa and asked if he wanted to help. They dug a pretty deep whole. When Matty stood in it was up to his waist. Abby loves to play on the slides and if there is swings it's over. Abby loves the swings so much that she want's me to stand and push her the whole time. We are so lucky to have some many parks that are near us to play at.

Abby loves to climb to the top, though sometimes she gets to the top and wants me to come and save her because she's scared.

I Will Start Again

Life has been really busy between work and family my blog has been put to the side. One reason I can never get on computer without Abby all over me and I would get flustered and never get finished. I feel bad that I haven't been blogging since this is how I am recording what is going on and what the kids are doing. So after a long break I am going to start again. I decided that I am going to start with current stuff and when I get time go back and add from the missing time. This way I'm putting up new stuff and adding old stuff. So my plan is this week to add new posts this week.

7 Years Old Today

Dear Drew,
Today you would of turned 7. Where has the time gone. It seems like yesterday that you blessed our family. Like every year we celebrated you on your day. Your brother and sister love you even though they never met you here on earth. They will know you. Abby sees your picture and tells me that's our baby Drew, Mommy. Matty will ask me questions about what you are doing in Heaven. Matty also said that we had to have a chocolate cake because he knows that it's your favorite. Not a day go by that we don't think about you. We miss you so much. I long for the day that I can hold you in my arms. We miss you so much and we know that you are having a Happy Birthday in Heaven!!
We Love You!!

Pismo

My brother was getting married in Pismo and it was at a little inn and we thought we might not be able to take the kids so.... We asked Jessi if she wanted to go to Pismo and watch the kids and then have some fun hanging out. We then asked Melissa and Tony if they wanted to go and a fun filled weekend we planned. Good thing Jessi came to watch the kids because the morning my brother got married it was raining and so it was good for them to stay at the hotel and have fun with Jessi. We took the Johnson's to our favorite and the best clam chowder place Splash Cafe on Friday with my parents. After the wedding on Saturday we headed over to Morro Bay. As we were walking we found a Pillow Pet Store and Jessi(who is 17) and Abby were in heaven. We ate a yummy dinner at Dockside. We hung out in around Pismo all weekend and it was a nice and relaxing weekend(even though it rained almost all day Saturday). As we were driving back Sunday Abby and Matty wanted to know when are we going to Pismo again. Andy and I love Pismo we went there alot when we lived in Fresno. So we told the kids that we would come back soon. It was a fun filled weekend.

Douglas Matthew Gomez

So the story began 4 years ago. After months of struggling with inferitlity and wanting so much to have you we were blessed with Matty in our life. On April 20, 2006 I went to visit my doctor. I was over a week overdue. Yes overdue! We were so surprised becasue the doctor thought you would have come at least 2 weeks earlier yet you were happy where you were. After the doctor appointment he gave me a slip to come and be induced early that morning. I was so excited you were finally going to come. After months of trying to concieve and then months of bed rest it was time to meet you. I went to my non stress test and the nurse and the doctor didn't like that you were to comfortable so they decided to it was time for you to come. The Doctor said I'll see you tomorrow you should have him in a few hours. Well I called your Dad and he meet us at the hosiptal. And we were getting nervous because we knew you would be here soon. Well that wasn't the case. Instead of being face down you were face up and you did not want to drop down. So after much drama and the doctor said around midnight that it was time to have a C-section. So off we went and at 1:53 am you were born and we could not be happier. The same doctor who deliver your brother Drew deliver you Dr. Smith. Also you were born 1 hour after your brother time he was born at 12:53 am. It was a funny little thing we noticed. I can't believe that 4 fun filled years have gone by and you have been Mommies little boy. You have always been a great big brother to Abby even though at 2 you had to share your Mommy and Daddy with her. You have always been my easy going boy. You always make us laugh especially when you tell us your not Matty your Douglas. Grandpa always smiles when you say that. You will always be Matty to us. We love you so much and are grateful everyday that you are a part of our family!! Happy Birthday Matty we love you.
